A continuation on the exploration of decay. Materials used reflect the state of mental stasis brought onto the artist by the quarantine. Materials used in the development and creation of leather. Tanning processes. Mummification. A hurried, frantic attempt to prevent further decay of what once was, now dead. Of the flesh, or of the soul?

A series of tiles cut from the terrain of paradise, the psyche explored and documented through its various deteriorative unpredictable mental states. Materials used in tanning leather, a modern mummification, preserving the dead in an inert, dormant state. A soul trapped in time, isolated, idle, halted from progress, or regression for that matter. A pull to either direction. Which will win? Crystals grow from its seeming death, a visual metaphor in the macabre. But one of hope, perhaps?
