Having fractured, torn and injured many bones and joints in my lifetime, I've always been drawn to the fragile and imperfect nature of the human body. Body conscious, dysmorphic, whatever you wanna call me, this probably comes at no surprise at this point but I find beauty in the grotesque. The physical state mirroring the spiritual or the mental. We are all broken people.
I also enjoy the visual of depicting these bodies as a negative space to the pureness of the paper's positive. It accentuates the silhouette in all its distortion, and gives a sorta museum-like display quality to it.
