I've always found composition to be a challenge, yet something I've always wanted to tackle. With the new notion of implementing religious symbolism in a greater context of cosmic, Lovecraftian horror, I began compiling and drafting more stuff.

There's not much to be said of this piece I reckon, I compiled and collaged various historic depictions of the Revelations in an attempt to replicate and compose something that could evoke some kind of indescribable feeling. The 2D renderings of death and plague mashed with elements of modern avant-garde fashion form a post-apocalyptic scenario depicting the return of Christ. Nothing too fancy I guess.

Next up, what I construed as a more relatable/personable approach towards spirituality. Picture this, you're in a room, isolated, alone, and the biblical equivalent of an "angel" approaches you. A trans-dimensional, unfathomable cosmic being too much for your mortal eyes to comprehe--- you get the idea. Incorporated elements of Beksinski into this one, the influences are pretty transparent and obvious I think.
At this point I was sketching and rendering daily, looking at all kinds of morbid and macabre references 6-10 hours a day while fighting off internal mental health issues. You could say my mind got pretty fried. I started having the most vivid nightmares and one of them I'll depict here just as a frame of reference:

Needless to say I wanted to take some of the imagery and run with it. At the risk of being psychoanalyzed, most of the nightmares I've had for the majority of my life consist of me running through places of memory that turn into massive labyrinths with high elemental stakes and just- the absolute freakiest monsters chasing me down hallways and corridors. The proverbial Greek Minotaur, I suppose. Anyways I wanted to depict this emotion, barreling through brutalist walls and architecture, together with the imagery from the initially mentioned nightmare into some kind of composition, thus creating this:
